Young Agents to Become NextGen Leaders

Effective January 1, Big I Michigan Young Agents are now the Next Generation Leaders of Michigan (NextGen Leaders). The name change coincides with a larger commitment to providing industry scholarships, opportunities and support to those interested in pursuing a career in the independent agency system. It also recognizes that the future of the independent agency system goes well beyond "young agents" to include professionals of all ages looking for fresh opportunities.

Advocacy Efforts

Advocacy Efforts

NextGen Leaders understand the importance of developing relationships with local, state and national legislators and taking steps throughout the year to spread the word about the importance of advocacy and legislative efforts in our industry. That’s why YA:

  • Collects PAC donations for the Big I Michigan AgentPAC (state PAC) and for Big I National's InsurPac.
  • Distributes information and legislative resources at many of their events.
  • Sends NextGen representatives to the Big "I" National Legislative Conference and meets with legislators on Capitol Hill to discuss issues important to our industry.
  • Joins Big I Michigan Leadership in Lansing to participate in the association’s Agent Legislative Day visits with legislators.
