MI Future Undergraduate Sons and Daughters Scholarship

This scholarship seeks to assist students who already have family working in the independent agency system.

FSU's Risk Management and Insurance Program offers practical education for this flexible and rewarding career.

YA/MI Future Shawn Brown Scholarship
This annual college tuition scholarship is worth $1,000! To qualify, students must be:
  • Planning for a career in the independent agency system (does not have to be in an insurance-specific curriculum).
  • Entering sophomore, junior or senior year with at least one full year of undergraduate school remaining.

Young Agent Designation Scholarship
Earning a professional insurance designation is a worthwhile endeavor, but can be difficult to finance. That's why Michigan Young Agents offer an annual $500 scholarship to a person who is:
  • A young or new agent under 40 years of age, or in the insurance industry less than 5 years and employed by an Big "I" Michigan member agency.
  • Enrolled in or enrolling in a Big "I" Michigan-sponsored CIC, CISR or CRM program.

MI Future Young Agent Annual Conference First-Timer Scholarship
The Michigan Young Agents Conference provides a tremendous opportunity for agents to earn continuing education credit, learn important sales skills, and develop lifelong relationships with industry folks. That's why, each year Michigan Young Agents offer a scholarship to cover conference registration and accommodations. Qualified applicants must be:
  • Practicing young insurance agents under 40 years of age or in the insurance industry less than five years.
  • Employed with a Big "I" Michigan member agency.

Oakland County
Joan McFern & Steve Fetterman Memorial Scholarship

The Oakland County Local/Steve Fetterman/MI Future Scholarship, worth $2,500, is a college tuition scholarship that honors two wonderful agents who were committed to our industry.

Qualified applicants must be:

  • Studying for a career in the independent agency system (curriculum: insurance, business, finance, marketing, etc.)
  • Entering sophomore, junior or senior year beginning September 2021.
  • From Oakland County

Macomb County Local Association Scholarship

The Macomb County Local (IIAM) Scholarship, worth $1,000, can be used towards college tuition or in the pursuit of an insurance designation (CIC, CPCU, AIA, etc.).

Qualified applicants must be:

  • Must reside or work for a Macomb County Agency (IIAM member)
  • Entering sophomore, junior or senior year beginning September
