Rise Above

This Year's Charity

This year, Michigan YA has chosen Rise Above in Jackson, Michigan, as their charity. Rise Above is a non-profit that looks to equip students in a way that will allow them to reach their full, God given potential through relationship restoration and academic credit recovery. Rise Above works to allow students to become connected to a community of people, businesses, and education through counseling, networking and resource sharing.

Advocacy Efforts

Advocacy Efforts

Michigan Young Agents understand the importance of developing relationships with local, state and national legislators and taking steps throughout the year to spread the word about the importance of advocacy and legislative efforts in our industry. That’s why YA:

  • Collects PAC donations for the Big I Michigan AgentPAC (state PAC) and for Big I National's InsurPac.
  • Distributes information and legislative resources at many of their events.
  • Sends YA representatives to the Big "I" National Legislative Conference and meets with legislators on Capitol Hill to discuss issues important to our industry.
  • Joins Big I Michigan Leadership in Lansing to participate in the association’s Agent Legislative Day visits with legislators.
