YAC hosts several events throughout the year. View photos from some of these events here.
YAC's Annual Young and New Agent Conference
The Young Agents Council hosts its annual Conference each June. The event gives attendees a great opportunity to catch up (and earn CE credits) on the latest topics like Sales, Personal and Commercial Lines, EPL, Flood, Ethics, Life Insurance and much more from some of the best instructors in the country.
The Conference also hosts the best networking opportunities this side of MAIA’s State Convention! Annual favorites include the First-Timers’ Reception, Competitive Team Activities, an evening Hospitality Suite and a spectacular Closing Banquet.
Young Agents, company and vendor reps all converge to make this a one-of-kind event no young agents will want to miss!
YAC Charity Golf Outing
This event combines the ever-popular sport of golf with the opportunity to support the future of our industry! Each year YAC hosts a fall charity golf outing benefiting The MI Future Foundation. MI Future supports the growth of Michigan’s independent insurance agencies by educating high school and college students on the incredible career opportunities available in independent agencies. The day is capped off with a banquet, great prizes and acknowledgement of the winning team.
YAC Pre-Convention Networking Kickoff
The Young Agents newest event is hosted in conjunction with MAIA’s Annual Convention. The evening reception occurs the night prior to the start of Convention and provides early arrivals the opportunity to warm up their networking chops with YAC and other MAIA leadership.
YAC Legislative Involvement
The Young Agents Council takes great pride in the role YAC plays in educating legislators at both the national and state levels.
Each year at the Big "I" Legislative Week in Washington D.C., YAC sends representatives to attend Big "I" and national YAC programs, network with agents across the country, help raise money for scholarships and InsurPAC, and to meet with our Michigan Senators and Representatives to discuss issues important to our industry like Health Care Reform and Federal Insurance Regulation.
YAC is also active at MAIA hosted Legislative Day, where with other MAIA representatives they meet with their representatives in the state legislature to educate them on matters of importance to both consumers and our industry.
Local Networking Opportunities
YAC encourages all young agents to get involved in their Local Associations. Locals focus on issues relevant to the communities agents serve and explore ways to promote agents within their communities. Locals can also be another great source for continuing education opportunities.
