Preparing for the CIC Exam CIC Class Prep Materials
How do I obtain and maintain the CIC designation?
To earn your CIC designation, you must attend five intensive three-day institutes and pass comprehensive essay exams which immediately follow. All institutes must be completed within a five-year period. You are then required to attend either one regular institute or a Ruble Seminar (offered to only CICs) each year thereafter.

Institute Times Registration for all Institutes begins at 7:30 a.m. with class beginning promptly at 8:00 a.m.

About the Graduate Program . . .
The Graduate Seminar is designed to take participants beyond a mere knowledge of the policies to an in-depth understanding of the risks and exposures involved.
This seminar is designed to focus on advanced property and casualty coverages and exposures, life and health exposures, risk management and insurance alternatives, as well as specific industry exposures. It will provide challenging curricula reflecting the latest coverages, trends, and techniques for minimizing insurance gaps.
This seminar fully satisfies the annual requirement for maintaining the CIC designation for dues paying members of the Society of CIC.
Approved for 12 hours P/C, 4 hours Ethics Michigan CE Credit.
Fees
· $410 per CIC institute
· $420 per Graduate Seminar and CRM Courses
· $20 CE Fee per course

Designation Prep Materials
Congratulations on deciding to go for your CISR, CIC or CRM designation! Obtaining your CISR, CIC, or CRM designation is not an easy venture; you must understand the concepts and pass five multiple choice (CISR) or essay (CIC and CRM) examinations. CISR must be completed within three years of beginning the program; with CIC and CRM you have five years to complete. To help prepare for the class and examination, the National Alliance has developed a Reading Guide. The Essential Series referenced in this guide are three books designed to help you build a foundation for each CISR, CIC and CRM class. The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.
